The Copenhagen Fashion Summit, which was recently held in Denmark, has won the Fashion Communicator of the Year award for our on-going efforts to put sustainability on the global fashion agenda at the Danish Elle Style Awards. Several leading fashion industry companies also signed the Call to Action for a Circular Fashion System during the summit.

"Eva Kruse's name on the exclusive BoF 500 in 2016 says it all: Copenhagen Fashion Summit makes a huge difference. The yearly summit puts sustainability on the fashion agenda and has found its permanent place in an otherwise tight fashion calendar - be there or be square - which everyone from the cream of the crop at LVMH to HRH Crown Princess Mary of Denmark are aware of. Simply put, this is fashion communication that sets the agenda," according to Elle Denmark.

Fashion brands and retailers were urged to sign a letter of commitment to increase the volume of textiles collected, reused and recycled. Signatories include world-leading companies such as Adidas, Asos, Bestseller, DK Company, H&M, Inditex, Kering, Marks & Spencer, Target and VF Corporation.

Signatories of the Call to Action commit to defining a circular strategy, to setting targets for 2020 and to reporting on the progress of implementing the commitment.

Each of the breakout sessions at this year's summit had a panel of leading voices in the world of fashion. The sessions deep dived into four interesting topics and drivers for innovation: circular design, technology innovations, customer engagement and supply chain transparency.

The Copenhagen Fashion Summit also introduced Solutions Lab, an exhibition space that presented some of the latest innovations that address sustainability in the fashion industry, one of which was Lectra. Lectra's solutions centre on 3D technologies and cover the entire product-development process, from pattern making to grading and virtual prototyping. The ability to work with flat patterns and 3D simulations enhances collaboration between developers and designers, while informing early decision-making.Read more at:formal dresses canberra | marieaustralia.com
